"Blessed Be the Holy Name of Jesus"
As you enter our parish church, these are the first words that you see when you look up at the altar. So, whether you have been in our church many times, or are planning your first visit with us, let those words continue to grow in your heart and in your prayers.
My name is Father Paul Spellman and I am the Pastor of Holy Name of Jesus Church. On behalf of our entire faith community, I would like to welcome you as you "surf" this website to learn more about our parish and the ministries we offer. And I hope and pray that if you are in the Los Angeles area, you will join us in praise and worship! Our community is a diverse community of people from various cultures and nationalities. Approximately 80% of our community is made up of African-Americans, and 20% of our community is made up of Hispanics. What we have in common is our love for Our Lord Jesus Christ, and a desire to worship Him, to praise Him, and to follow Him in our daily lives.
We gather together for Mass each morning at 7:30, and we celebrate our weekend Masses on Saturday afternoon at 4:30 (in English), and on Sundays at 8:00 (in English), at 10:00 (in English - with our Gospel Choir) and at 12:30 (in Spanish). Please join us, as I know that you will find a parish community that is most welcoming to all who join us!
